Sarah

Call me a sentimental old fool but I was sitting watching an old (1998) music video from Faith Hill 'Let me let go' on TV and was thinking about past loves lost when Sarah jumped into my lap and I felt the total comfort of pure uncomplicated love for this little beautiful animal. I don't know how you could have let her go after being with her for some two months. She is a treasure, so close to my heart; I am inspired by her gracing my life and my space. Thank you for bringing her to me.

John Mapleback

United Hope for Animals foster persons Dustin and Elle Fostered Sarah. Below are their thoughts with regard to the fostering experience:

"For my wife and I, the only way that we can let some of our "kids" go is by imagining the happiness they can bring to other families and the joy and attention that the families will return to our "kids" it makes all the time, money, effort, and heartache worth it. Knowing where these dogs came from and in most of our cases actually having taken them from the street while starving and covered in mange and wounds from being attacked by other dogs makes it all the more rewarding. Seeing such a complete transformation in these dogs lives from total misery and suffering to a life filled with love and attention, it is the best feeling in the world for us. They show how completely a dog's life can be changed and how much they can bring to someone's home. Thank you again for your words and the wonderful pictures you have sent of Sarah".

John writes:
"Sarah and Buddy (“puppy”) play constantly. They wear each other out. They are both eating lots of food and sleeping well. Sarah is so vocal she is quite funny; she makes all kinds of little squeaks and noises, both awake and asleep. She is a total delight and we all love her arrival in our home".

Sarah, her brother and sister were abandon behind a dumpster in Tecate Mexio when they were only 4 weeks old. Gabriele, Sarah's sister is happy and also living in a loving home; sadly the boy was not strong enough to survive.

A special thank you to John's friend Rebecca for the beautiful photos.

Ironically, she was the one looking for a dog at the adoption event and John just happened to be with her and it was John who went home with a new member of the family.
